I am so grateful and excited to be working with the students at Rice ISD in Bulldog Nation.  I have worked in public schools for over 15 years, and the varied amounts of experience I bring to this school in the areas of electives, academics, and athletics, will hopefully serve the students and the community well.

I was raised in a small East Texas community known for progressive schools and competitive programs.  I attended Stephen F. Austin State University and earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Agriculture Development.  I taught agriculture for several years until I met my husband and started a family.  I switched over to teaching Special Education and English core classes.  I then earned my Masters of Education Administration degree in 2015 from Lamar University in Beaumont.   I have been a Special Education Coordinator, an English Department Head, and an Assistant Principal for the last few years.

My goal for 2016-17, to challenge students and the community, is to bring this school the WOW factor.  In years past we have gone from "Good to Great", now lets take it a step further and go from "Great to WOW!"  The WOW factor will include more individualized instruction catered to the needs of each student, instruction based on data gathered from a wide array of sources, and presented by teachers that care and respect the students in ways that we have yet to experience.  I hope to bring about an atmosphere of positive energy, bright minds, caring teachers, good work ethics, and a love for students.

I am looking forward to a fantastic year filled with WOW!  GO BULLDOGS!
